Dynastar Energy is like many retail electric companies looking to expand their customer base. Just as Green Mountain Energy, Spark Energy, and Stream Energy created a separate MLM division to market electric service you can now add Dynastar Energy to that list.

Affordable Energy has been around for awhile but never really took off like Ambit or Ignite Energy. Affordable Energy has done alright to be between desperate and making a small profit which may have allowed Dynastar Energy to get a sweet acquisition deal for an already established MLM company complete with processes, down-lines, independent representatives, staff and a pricing desk.

It appears Dynastar Energy is purely an MLM direct sales company from what I understand in the press release put out by their parent company, Dynastar Ventures. This simply means Dynastar will likely only be marketing their company using the multi-level marketing direct selling channel and by no other means. This has yet to be determined however and in the future I surmise they might try also doing traditional billboard, TV, internet, electric choice state programs and radio advertising to sign up electric customers directly as does Ambit Energy.

John S. Henderson IV is Chairman & CEO of Dynastar Ventures and get this, he was the VP of sales for Vartec-Excel communications. Excel is one of the biggest success stories in MLM direct selling history and is the company that made their president of Marketing, Steve Smith, the all time income record holder in MLM history. Steve Smith coincidentally enough has just launched his own new retail electric provider MLM company called Ampegy Energy. Speaking of past execs of Excel you will find that both Ignite and Ambit Energy also have prior Excel executives working for them.

Regarding a good Dynastar Energy review, it is too early to give you any decent information. Dynastar bought Affordable Energy and is changing their compensation plan. Give them a few months and we will have a better idea on their make up.

There is nothing wrong with MLM and yes you can make decent money at it. The people that say things like, “the Dynastar Energy scam”, when referring to the MLM opportunity are probably referring to the scammers that will and do join companies like Dynastar, Ignite, and Ambit. It is not that these energy companies are scamming someone but you get good and bad apples that join these things.

On a side note, I have already run into a problem by typing in Dynowatt when I meant to type Dynastar in the search bar. I assume this name similarity could cause a little confusion but hopefully not enough to matter. These are two seperate unrelated companies but they both sell electricity in Texas.

So as of now I see the Dynastar Energy site looks like the Affordable Energy site and the transition seems to be complete. Tomorrow Dynastar Energy will announce their new and improved compensation structure. I am wondering if the new comp plan will be similar to Ignite Energy or Ambit Energy.

I personally think the Ambit Energy plan would be a better way to go but what do I know? For one thing Ambit Energy offers an affiliate program for those who just want to sell the electric service. Ambit Energy also allows reps to advertise online while Ignite forbids this behavior.

So will Dynowatt Energy be another MLM electric company where all the big money is stacked in favor of those who sign up a bunch of washed up MLM junkies as reps or will there be more to it than that?

I hope it will be a balanced compensation plan that not only rewards people for building a business associate down-line but also pays them for signing up customers. Let’s face it most people who sign up with an MLM company drop out pretty soon.

I personally don’t want to be paid just for selling people hopes and dreams and then pressuring that on their family to get them as customers. Now add a sweet comp plan for signing up electric service customers and that makes sense to me.
